Purple People Bridge

This bridge, a historic landmark located at 1 Levee Way in adjacent Newport, spans the Ohio River, connecting Cincinnati to Kentucky. The Purple People Bridge is pedestrian-only and dates to the nineteenth century. Today the bridge can be rented out for parties, weddings, or fundraisers. Come check out the bridge during one of the many festivals that it hosts.

National Underground Railroad Freedom Center

The Freedom Center, located at 50 E Freedom Way, offers exhibits documenting the history of slavery and freedom in America. The museum also hosts special exhibitions and events, so there is always something new and exciting happening here. They offer a teen docent program for youths to get involved, and they operate in partnership with educators to further increase youth engagement.

Newport Aquarium

Located just across the bridge at 1 Levee Way in Newport, this aquarium displays thousands of aquatic animals, including crowd favorites like penguins, alligators, sea turtles, and sharks. There are dining options and a store at the aquarium to keep the whole family satisfied. There is a coral reef tunnel to explore, and the museum offers discounts for AAA and AARP members.

Taft Museum of Art

You can find this museum at 316 Pike Street. The collection includes almost 800 paintings and sculptures, as well as European watches and Chinese porcelains. You definitely won’t leave the Taft hungry. Within the museum is the Lindner Family Café which serves great vegetarian meals with gluten-free options. The restaurant also hosts special events for holidays.
