At Beechmont Ford, we understand that we are only as strong as our communities, that’s why it has always been one of our core values to support where we live, work, and come from, as much as possible. This is why we created the KindnessProject, where we team up with local friends, customers, employees, and organizations in an effort to give back to our community. As we continue the KindnessProject, we are proud to be a major sponsor for the EmPath For Autism foundation, for the second year in a row! This year is building off of their amazing event from last year, “Circus Bizurcus” by taking it to new heights; Circus Bizircus Lunar, a Party Beyond! The EmPath autism foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was created as a resource to help families in the Greater Cincinnati area impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder. Earlier this year, we teamed up with ABC Pediatric Therapy for a Sensory Toy Drive. All three locations of the Mark Williams Auto Group saw massive success, the turn out was measured in car loads, and we filled up several with sensory toys to help children on the Autism Spectrum all throughout the greater Cincinnati and surrounding area. ABC Pediatric also produce educational content on a wide range of Autism-related topics. One of our favorite blog posts was an entry titled, “diagnosis and early intervention in Autism.” Check out their full blog here. Last year, EmPath’s fundraiser was hugely successful, raising $67,000 for The Kelly O’Leary Center for Autism at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The funds that were donated are going directly to an initiative called Project Echo. This project is designed to take treatment and diagnosis of autism to rural communities surrounding Cincinnati. Many of the rural communities around Cincinnati are underserved, and it can be very difficult for families to get time off from work and regular life to bring their children in for treatment. Project Echo aims to bring care to these families, so that their children can learn to live and thrive with their Autism Spectrum Disorder. Children who can have the resources to treat their ASD often find it can become their superpower, and it vastly improves the day to day life of many families. This year, Circus Bizircus Lunar aims to take that contribution to a new level, and we are going to do our best to spread the word to help make that happen! The Beechmont Ford team is excited to be back for another chapter of The Kindness Project! The Kindness Project was started by Mark Williams Auto Group and the Williams family in 2018. In the past, we have bought people’s groceries, hosted toy drives, donated supplies to flood victims, and much more. Our goal with this initiative is to use our platform to help local families in need. This chapter of the Kindness Project was a Sensory Toy Drive! The goal of our Sensory Toy Drive was to collect toys for children in need that have Autism. You may be asking, what are sensory toys? Sensory toys are toys designed to have therapeutic benefits. They intentionally stimulate a child’s sense of sight, hearing, and touch. This provides feedback to their sensory system. These toys can be extremely therapeutic to a child with Autism! Team Work Makes The Dream Work: We teamed up with the EmPath for Autism Foundation and ABC Pediatric Therapy to collect and distribute these toys to local families in need! EmPath is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that was created by the Williams family as a resource for children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Mark Williams Auto Group will be sponsoring their annual fundraiser, an incredible party that will take place in Covington, KY on September 21 st. This amazing event is called Circus Bizircus Lunar! The proceeds from Circus Bizircus will be donated to the Kelly O’Leary Center For Autism Spectrum Disorders at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. ABC Pediatric Therapy was the piece of the puzzle that ensured all of our collected toys made it to worthy homes! ABC is an amazing therapy center for children, located in Cincinnati (Western Hills). They provide high-quality pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy in a child-friendly environment. Their mission is to “create the best life for all children.” All of us at Mark Williams Auto Group are proud to work hand-in-hand with both of these fantastic organizations. If you’re interested in how we worked to spread the word for our Sensory Toy Drive, check out this video! Chloe Williams and Charlie Watson sat down to discuss details on sensory toys and showed a couple examples of great sensory toy options! They also discussed the awareness around Autism that has inspired some huge retailers to dedicate segments of their businesses to making sure sensory toys are available for everyone! Our Sensory Toy Drive lasted for two weeks and had collection points at all Mark Williams Auto Group locations. Once we finished our drive, the Williams family hand delivered all of the toys to ABC Pediatric Therapy for distribution. We are honored to say that with the help of staff, customers, friends, and family, we were able to deliver an entire SUV load of toys to be donated to children in our city!

The Mark Williams Auto Group team was honored to help McNicholas High School surprise students last week by wheeling out a brand new 2023 Ford Bronco Sport onto the stage at their latest assembly. When the curtain opened, our very own Chloe Williams drove the vehicle out for the big reveal! Students went wild as they found out that the Bronco Sport was up for grabs in this year's Rocket Raffle fundraiser. Raffle tickets are on sale until 2/8/2024 at 11:55 pm. Don't miss out! They are $25 each, or five for $100, and can be bought here! All proceeds from the Rocket Raffle will go towards tuition assistance for students at the school. 70% of students at McNich benefit from some type of tuition assistance at the school, and while you can’t put a price on a good education, every parent can breathe a sigh of relief when costs go down. Your Ford contains numerous systems that make driving safer and easier than ever before. All of these systems require a constant and consistent supply of electricity. The alternator is the component in your engine that generates power for all these systems. Over time, the alternator will wear out or suffer damage. When this happens, our Ford dealer in Cincinnati, OH can perform an alternator repair for you. These are signs that your alternator could be failing. more Old Alternator Alternators are tough and designed to last. On average, an alternator will work efficiently for eight years before it needs replacement. As an alternator gets older, its components wear out. These worn components take their toll on the alternator's health, and it will start to fail. A failing alternator slows down and produces less electricity than it should. If your alternator is aging, you may hear screeching to clunking sounds under the hood or smell hot metal or burning insulation. These signs can be due to other problems. If you're also experiencing electrical failures, the usual cause of this situation is a worn alternator. Burning Insulation A vast network of cables and wires connects your alternator to all your car's systems. These wires constantly carry electricity, and they're protected against the heat of the engine with thick rubber and plastic insulation. Despite the best protection, electrical wiring is delicate and can become worn or damaged. Damaged wiring cuts off power to the component or components it connects to. Damaged wiring can cause additional problems as electricity continues to flow into them. A break in wiring prevents the electrical current from passing through it, but the wiring will heat up due to the electrical flow. Wiring that gets too hot can cause its protective insulation to burn. Burning wiring produces toxic, acrid fumes. If you smell burning insulation, call us right away. We'll identify and replace the damaged wiring. Starting Problems The battery provides the electricity that starts your engine. It doesn't, however, produce this power. When you're driving, the alternator recharges your battery to ensure it's always fully charged.  A worn or failing alternator produces less power, and the reduced power supply also affects battery recharging. The battery's electricity reserve will slowly drop as it uses more power than it receives from the alternator. Starting an engine requires a large percentage of a battery's stored power. A battery that's not adequately charging will have difficulty in providing the power to start the engine immediately. You'll hear a cranking noise as the battery struggles to supply the necessary power. We'll test your alternator and install a new one if necessary. The transmission is by far the most complex and hard-working part of your car. Gearboxes perform an incredible feat in transmitting the full force of your engine to the wheels while shifting seamlessly through various gears. But as with any complex piece of machinery, things can occasionally go awry. If you ever notice one of the following seven issues, consider visiting your nearest Ford dealer for transmission repair before the problem worsens into a very expensive repair job. more Slipping Gears One of the most disconcerting transmission problems is slipping gears. This means some of your gears are worn and are no longer gripping properly. As a result, you might find your car suddenly changing gears or popping into neutral all on its own. Aging or leaking transmission fluid will often lead to slipping gears. Sticking Gears Malfunctioning gears might also refuse to shift, which can be almost as dangerous as slipping gears while you're out on the road. Gears can eventually start to stick as a result of normal wear and tear to the gear teeth. But it might also be caused by a faulty master cylinder, broken hub sleeve, or something else. Revving While Shifting When gears start misbehaving, you'll often find the engine revving unexpectedly when you're trying to shift. This revving occurs as the engine tries ineffectually to transmit power through to the new gears, which aren't slotting into place properly. Delayed Gear Shifts When a gearbox first starts to have trouble, you may notice a delay of one or two seconds between your shift and the gears finally locking into place. Delayed gear shifting is likely to get worse if not repaired promptly by a mechanic. Grinding Gears When gears are low on lubricating fluid, you might hear them grinding noisily against each other. Sometimes this can be fixed by simply topping up or flushing your transmission fluid. Whining Sounds Automatic transmissions may emit high-pitched whining sounds when they have problems. The whining might be caused by worn-down gears, a faulty fluid pump, a slipping clutch, a clogged fluid line, or a bad torque converter. Burning Fluid Smells Transmission fluid is vital to the proper functioning of any gearbox. If your transmission fluid grows too old, it will start to burn under all the heat and pressure. You'll eventually be able to detect this burning smell in the cabin above. If you do, it's best to have the fluid refreshed immediately.
