When it comes to exploring the great outdoors, especially our stunning national parks, having the right vehicle can make all the difference. The 2025 Ford Explorer is quickly becoming a favorite among adventure enthusiasts, and for good reasons. This versatile SUV offers the perfect blend of comfort, capability, and modern technology, making it an excellent choice for car camping and road trips to some of America’s most breathtaking national parks.

In this blog post, we’ll dive into why the 2025 Ford Explorer is a top pick for your car camping escapades, followed by a practical guide to traveling through four iconic national parks on your road trip: Crater Lake in Oregon, Redwood National Park in California, Lassen Volcanic National Park in Northern California, and Yosemite National Park in California’s Sierra Nevada.

Why the 2025 Ford Explorer is Ideal for Car Camping

1. Spacious Interior & Flexible Seating

Car camping means you often need to transform your vehicle into a cozy sleeping area or have plenty of room for camping gear, coolers, and outdoor equipment. The Ford Explorer’s three rows of seats can easily fold flat to create a spacious cargo area up to 87.8 cubic feet which is more than enough room for a full-size mattress or camping pads. Its configurable seating lets you prioritize passengers or cargo depending on your needs, giving you the freedom to pack everything you need without compromise.

2. Advanced Terrain Management & 4WD Capability

Exploring national parks often means venturing on rough, uneven roads or dirt trails. The 2025 Explorer offers an intelligent Terrain Management System with multiple drive modes (including Normal, Trail, Snow, Sand, and Tow/Haul), plus an available Intelligent 4WD system that adapts to changing conditions on the fly. This means you can confidently tackle muddy, rocky, or slippery paths with enhanced traction and stability.

3. Powerful and Efficient Performance

Under the hood, the Explorer offers multiple engine options, including a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine and a hybrid variant for those wanting to maximize fuel economy. Whether you’re hauling gear up steep mountain passes or cruising between parks, the Explorer balances power and efficiency to keep your road trip smooth and cost-effective.

4. Tech Features for Convenience & Safety

Modern car camping requires staying connected and safe. The Explorer includes the SYNC 4 infotainment system with a large touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple USB ports, and an available 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster. Safety features like Ford Co-Pilot360 offer adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist perfect for long highway drives or navigating narrow forest roads.

5. Comfort & Amenities for Long Trips

Long hours on the road can be tiring. The Explorer offers heated and ventilated seats, tri-zone climate control, and a panoramic moonroof to keep passengers comfortable and engaged. Plus, the available premium sound system makes those road trip playlists or podcasts even better.

6. Practical Storage Solutions

For car campers, every inch of storage counts. The Explorer features multiple storage compartments, a hands-free power liftgate for easy access to the rear cargo area, and roof rails for extra gear like kayaks or rooftop tents.

Road Trip Guide: National Parks to Explore in Your 2025 Ford Explorer

Now that you know why the Explorer is the perfect car camping vehicle, let’s explore a road trip route that includes some of the West Coast’s most awe-inspiring national parks.

1. Crater Lake National Park, Oregon

Why Visit:
Crater Lake is famous for its deep blue water, clarity, and the stunning volcanic caldera. It’s the deepest lake in the U.S., formed by the collapse of Mount Mazama over 7,700 years ago.

Travel Tips:
From Portland or Eugene, Oregon, the Explorer’s capable drivetrain will handle the winding mountain roads leading to the park. The Rim Drive offers spectacular views but can be closed in winter, so check conditions ahead. Car camping options include the Mazama Village Campground, which is a short drive from the rim and perfect for setting up base.

2. Redwood National Park, California

Why Visit:
Home to the tallest trees on Earth, Redwood National Park’s towering ancient giants offer a humbling and magical experience. Beyond the trees, the park features pristine coastline, rivers, and diverse wildlife.

Travel Tips:
Driving south from Crater Lake, the Explorer’s all-wheel drive system will be handy navigating forest roads and coastal routes. Gold Bluffs Beach Campground is an excellent car camping spot close to the famous Fern Canyon. Don’t miss a hike through the Tall Trees Grove or a drive along the scenic coastal Highway 101.

3. Lassen Volcanic National Park, Northern California

Why Visit:
Lassen is one of the few places in the world where you can see all four types of volcanoes. It’s a geothermal wonderland with boiling springs, fumaroles, and mud pots set against beautiful alpine lakes and meadows.

Travel Tips:
The 2025 Explorer’s towing capacity and terrain management come in handy if you bring additional camping gear or a small trailer. Manzanita Lake Campground offers convenient car camping with great access to trails and fishing spots. Spring and summer are ideal times when the park’s main roads and facilities are open.

4. Yosemite National Park, California

Why Visit:
Yosemite’s iconic granite cliffs, waterfalls, and giant sequoias make it a bucket-list destination. From the dramatic views at Tunnel View to the peacefulness of Tuolumne Meadows, it’s a place that demands exploration.

Travel Tips:
The Ford Explorer’s comfort and tech features shine on longer drives to Yosemite, especially if you’re coming from Lassen or Redwood. The park’s campgrounds fill up fast, so book early or consider less crowded spots like Hodgdon Meadow Campground for car camping. The Explorer’s ground clearance and traction control are advantageous on forest roads or if you detour to less accessible trailheads.

One of the most common questions about electric vehicles (EVs) is, “Can you actually take a long road trip in one?” For years, the answer seemed to lean toward “no,” or at least, “not easily.” Limited driving range, a lack of charging infrastructure, and slow charging speeds gave critics plenty of reasons to be skeptical.

That perception is changing quickly.

Thanks to advancements in EV technology, expanding charging networks, and vehicles like the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E, long-distance electric travel is no longer a hassle. In fact, it’s becoming the better choice. The Mach-E proves that EVs are not only capable of handling long road trips, but they also excel at them. Here’s why.

320 Miles on a Single Charge

The 2025 Mustang Mach-E offers up to 320 miles of range on a full charge. That’s enough to cover many common regional trips, such as from Chicago to St. Louis or Los Angeles to Las Vegas, without needing to recharge along the way.

What makes this range even more practical is the vehicle’s efficiency. With intelligent regenerative braking, the Mach-E recaptures energy during deceleration, storing it in the battery. This means that in real-world driving, especially in stop-and-go traffic or when going downhill, you can extend your range without doing anything differently.

It’s not just about how far the car can go on paper. It’s about how well it performs under real conditions. The Mach-E doesn’t just promise range, it delivers it when and where you need it most.

Smarter Trip Planning

One of the major benefits of driving an EV like the Mach-E is the smart navigation and trip-planning system that comes built-in. Using real-time data, Ford’s system automatically charts the best route based on your current charge level, terrain, driving habits, and weather conditions.

It also connects to Ford’s BlueOval Charge Network, which provides access to thousands of public charging stations. The system highlights optimal places to stop and recharge, so you don’t have to guess or stress about where the next station might be.

EV trip planning used to require careful research and backup plans. Now, it’s as easy as entering your destination. The car does the rest, giving you turn-by-turn directions and suggesting efficient charging stops along the way.

Quick Charging When You Need It

Worried about long charging times? The Mach-E offers DC fast-charging capability, which can provide about 60 miles of range in just 10 minutes. That’s more than enough time to use the restroom, stretch your legs, or grab a snack.

In practical terms, charging stops become natural breaks during your trip rather than obstacles. You can take a 30-minute lunch break while the car charges up and be back on the road without much delay. It turns out, refueling an EV can be just as convenient if not more than filling a gas tank.

Designed for Comfort

Road trips require a vehicle that’s not only efficient, but also comfortable. The Mustang Mach-E delivers on both fronts. Its cabin is modern and spacious, with a clean design that emphasizes comfort and usability.

Front and rear passengers have plenty of legroom, and the cargo area offers enough space for luggage, coolers, and other essentials. Features like heated seats, dual-zone climate control, and an available panoramic glass roof help create a relaxing environment during long drives.

The tech suite includes a large 15.5-inch touchscreen and Ford’s SYNC 4A system, which provides wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Whether you’re listening to a podcast, checking traffic, or calling a friend, everything is accessible and easy to use.

The overall driving experience is smooth and quiet, thanks to the electric powertrain, which eliminates engine noise and vibration. That peaceful atmosphere makes long journeys more enjoyable for both drivers and passengers.

Driver Assistance That Reduces Fatigue

Long hours behind the wheel can take a toll, especially on highways or in traffic. That’s where Ford’s BlueCruise system comes in. This semi-autonomous driving technology allows hands-free driving on certain pre-mapped highways, known as Hands-Free Blue Zones.

Using sensors, cameras, and real-time data, BlueCruise helps keep your vehicle centered in its lane and at a safe distance from other cars. It’s not a replacement for driver awareness, but it does provide much-needed relief during monotonous parts of your trip.

The result is a more relaxed driving experience. You stay engaged, but the vehicle shares the workload. It’s a subtle, but meaningful improvement that helps you stay focused and refreshed over long distances.

Say Goodbye to Range Anxiety

Range anxiety is a common concern for first-time EV drivers. But with the Mustang Mach-E, those worries quickly fade. The car constantly monitors your remaining battery life and displays available charging stations nearby. You’ll always know how far you can go and where you can recharge.

Ford’s BlueOval Charge Network continues to grow, making it easier than ever to find charging stations whether you’re in a city, small town, or somewhere in between. Many stations are conveniently located near restaurants, stores, and attractions, so you can turn charging time into a productive or relaxing break.

The vehicle’s transparent trip planning and reliable performance gives you confidence. You can focus on the journey, not your battery level.

Why the Mach-E Stands Out for Road Trips

The Mustang Mach-E isn’t just capable of long-distance travel it’s designed for it. From its range and charging speed to comfort and tech features, it offers a well-rounded package that meets the needs of modern road trippers.

It’s fun to drive, stylish to look at, and packed with thoughtful details that enhance your experience. What really sets it apart is how well everything works together. It’s not just about going electricit’s about going better.

You don’t have to compromise on performance, convenience, or comfort. The Mach-E combines the freedom of the open road with the sustainability and innovation of electric driving.

Make Your Next Road Trip Electric

If you’ve been unsure whether an electric vehicle can handle your next road trip, the answer is yes and then some. The 2025 Mustang Mach-E shows that EV travel is no longer a futuristic concept. It’s here, it’s capable, and it’s exciting.

Long-distance electric driving is quieter, cleaner, and more connected. With the right vehicle, it also becomes more enjoyable. Whether you’re heading out for a weekend escape or a cross-country journey, the Mach-E is ready to take you there with zero tailpipe emissions and a whole lot of style.

So, plug in, set your route, and enjoy the ride. The future of road trips is electric, and it’s already waiting at your driveway.

We were honored to attend the recent UAW Local 863 Retiree Luncheon and reconnect with the incredible folks who helped build the legacy of Ford right here in our community. On behalf of all of us at Beechmont Ford, thank you to UAW President Tod Turner, James Siuda, Pamela Bullard, Regina Richmond, and Dan Murphy for the warm welcome and hospitality.

Representing our team, we had David Godbey (Fixed Operations Director), Andre Eddings (Queen City Ford Senior Sales), and Charlie Watson (Marketing Director). Spending the afternoon with the dedicated retirees of UAW was both a privilege and a reminder of how much history and hard work lives within the Ford family.

During the luncheon, Charlie shared updates on some exciting things happening across our stores, including the opening of a new 40,000 sq. ft. service facility at our sister location, Mt. Orab Ford. He also touched on the latest Ford incentives, expanded inventory, and a limited-time tire promotion that comes with free Cincinnati Reds tickets—available through April 30th!

More than anything, we wanted to reiterate our ongoing commitment to supporting UAW retirees. Whether it’s sales, service, or anything in between, our doors are always open. We’re here to help however we can. Jim emphasized this during his remarks as well, encouraging retirees to reach out to him or Tod so we can make sure every retiree receives the care and respect they deserve.

We also got to hear some exciting updates from the UAW, including revised bylaws, upgrades to their facility (like a refreshed lobby and landscaping), and news about great retiree perks—like free trips and social opportunities designed to keep folks active and connected.

Beechmont Ford was proud to help sponsor this special luncheon and provide meals for the retirees and their families. It was a day full of appreciation, stories, and gratitude.

To all the UAW retirees: thank you. We’re proud to stand by your side, and we look forward to continuing our relationship for years to come.

At Mark Williams Auto Group, we believe in the power of community and kindness, and this year, our Kindness Project 2024 truly showcased what can be accomplished when we come together for a common cause. In partnership with EmPath For Autism, we launched a disaster relief drive to support the families devastated by Hurricane Helene. From donations of essential supplies to financial contributions, the outpouring of generosity was nothing short of inspiring.

A Call for Action: Collecting Supplies for North Carolina

The project kicked off with the goal of collecting vital supplies for those affected by the hurricane. As the damage from Hurricane Helene ravaged parts of North Carolina, particularly Hendersonville, we knew that our community’s response could make a significant difference. We asked for donations of essential disaster relief items, such as non-perishable food, water, clothing, hygiene products, and other supplies to aid in the recovery effort.

As the deadline approached on October 21st, our showroom became a bustling hub of activity. People from all walks of life came forward to lend a helping hand. Among the generous contributors was the Tri-State Mustang/Ford Club of Greater Cincinnati, whose donation of over $1,000 worth of goods was a highlight of the drive. Their incredible support was pivotal in ensuring we had enough supplies to make a meaningful impact in the areas most affected by the hurricane.

A Community United for a Cause

The generosity didn’t stop with just physical donations. We also opened up a financial donation option, where supporters who could not donate items still had the opportunity to help through monetary contributions. These funds were directly donated to the Hendersonville, NC Government for Hurricane Helene Relief, ensuring that those affected received the assistance they needed to rebuild their lives.

The response from the community was overwhelming. Volunteers stepped in to help sort, pack, and load the donations onto a truck that would make its way to North Carolina. The care and compassion shown by everyone involved truly embodied the spirit of the Kindness Project.

A Successful Delivery and Impact

On the day of delivery, we drove the truck loaded with supplies to Hendersonville, North Carolina, where the donations were distributed to the families who needed them the most. The relief effort was instrumental in providing food, clothing, and critical supplies to the people impacted by the hurricane. It was heartwarming to see firsthand how the contributions from local community members and organizations were being used to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Thank You to All Who Contributed

This project would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our partners, including EmPath For Autism, and of course, the generous donations from community members like the Tri-State Mustang/Ford Club. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this relief effort such a success.

At Mark Williams Auto Group, we’re proud to be a part of something bigger than ourselves—something that brings people together and makes the world a better place. Kindness Project 2024 was a reminder that even in the face of disaster, kindness and community can lead the way to recovery.

As we reflect on this year’s project, we remain committed to supporting our community and beyond. We look forward to continuing our mission to help those in need and invite you to stay involved in future Kindness Projects. Together, we can make a difference.

From Dream to Reality

In the car world, we’ve all heard a lot about the upcoming Mustang GTD. For a while, though, it felt like a far-off dream—or maybe even a mirage shimmering over the asphalt of a hot racetrack. That all changed when we laid eyes on some incredible photos by The Real Cervenka. His shots captured the raw presence of the GTD in a way that makes it feel almost close enough to touch. Inspired by those images, we decided it was time to take a deep dive into what makes this Mustang the ultimate fusion of power, design, and innovation.

The Legend Is Born

When Ford set out to build the Mustang GTD, they didn’t just aim to push boundaries—they obliterated them. The GTD Mustang is a love letter to racing, inspired by the Mustang GT3 race car that will soon dominate tracks worldwide. It’s a precision-crafted blend of cutting-edge engineering, adrenaline-pumping performance, and jaw-dropping design.

What’s Under the Hood?

Let’s talk power—serious power. The GTD Mustang is equipped with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, roaring with over 800 horsepower. This isn’t just fast; it’s track-level fast. It’s built to handle the sharpest turns and longest straights, with a suspension system derived straight from the racing world and an eight-speed rear transaxle for perfect weight distribution.

Built for Performance

Ford didn’t stop with the engine. The GTD features lightweight carbon-fiber body panels to reduce weight and boost agility, plus active aerodynamics that adjust for maximum downforce or reduced drag depending on what you need. It’s not just a car—it’s a driving experience.

A Race Car in Disguise

From its aggressive stance to its sleek lines, the GTD Mustang looks every bit the part of a street-legal race car. But there’s more to this machine than meets the eye. Its hood and fenders are engineered for optimal airflow, while massive Brembo brakes ensure you can stop on a dime—even when you’re pushing 200 mph.

A Cabin That Keeps Up

Step inside, and you’ll find a cockpit that screams luxury and performance. Think race-inspired Recaro seats, carbon-fiber trim, and enough tech to make you feel like you’re in a spaceship. The GTD’s interior is designed for those who love to drive—and love to drive fast.

Track Triumphs: Conquering the Nürburgring

The GTD Mustang isn’t just about raw power; it’s about precision and performance honed on some of the world’s most challenging tracks. Notably, it tackled the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife—a 12.9-mile circuit renowned for its demanding layout and treacherous turns. With 73 corners to navigate, the ‘Ring is a proving ground for the best of the best.

Fun Fact Corner: Did You Know?

  • The GTD Mustang features a titanium exhaust system that doesn’t just sound amazing—it also helps reduce weight.
  • Its rear wing isn’t just for looks; it’s actively controlled to provide downforce where you need it most.
  • The name “GTD” comes from the GT endurance racing class, reflecting its track-focused origins.

The holiday season is all about spreading joy and giving back, and this year, we’re thrilled to share the success of our Toys for Tots toy drive at Beechmont Ford. The spirit of giving was truly alive at our dealership, and we’re so proud to be a part of this incredible cause.

The Mission of Toys for Tots

Since 1947, Toys for Tots has been brightening the holidays for children across the country. Founded by Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks, the program started with the simple goal of delivering toys to less fortunate children to inspire hope and joy. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most trusted and impactful charitable organizations in the United States, collecting and distributing millions of toys annually.

We’re proud to play a part in this legacy, helping to collect toys for kids in our community who might otherwise go without. Seeing the impact of these donations is one of the most rewarding parts of the year.

Beechmont Ford

At Beechmont Ford, the spirit of giving was truly alive. All month long, employees, customers, family and community members stopped by to drop off toys. We will be able to make sure dozens of children will be able to unwrap some joy this holiday season; from bikes to board games, the variety and thoughtfulness of the donations was heartwarming. Thank you to everyone who stopped by with a toy and shared in the holiday spirit with us.

Why It Matters

Every toy collected goes directly to a child in need, spreading the magic of the holidays and showing them that their community cares. Over the years, thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to contribute thousands of toys. This year’s success is a testament to the compassion and kindness of our community, customers, and staff.

Thank You for Making It Possible

We’re so proud of the role Beechmont Ford plays in supporting Toys for Tots, but none of it would be possible without the incredible generosity of our customers and community. Thank you for helping us make the holidays brighter for children in need. Together, we’ve made a difference, and we can’t wait to continue this tradition in the years to come.

SYNC 5 Takes Center Stage

The big tech upgrade for 2025 is the all-new SYNC 5 infotainment system. With a massive 15.5-inch touchscreen, it’s bigger, faster, and more intuitive than ever. Plus, it’s wireless. That means wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto—no more fumbling with cords. Add in cloud-based navigation and FordPass Connect, and you’re always in control, even from your phone.

Safety on Another Level

Ford’s Co-Pilot360™ has been upgraded, too. This time around, you’re getting Adaptive Cruise Control 2.0 with lane centering to keep you on track during those long drives. New for 2025 is Intersection Assist, which is great for avoiding those tricky side-impact situations at stoplights. And let’s not forget Reverse Brake Assist, which helps avoid mishaps when backing out of tight spots, not that we’ve ever had any trouble with that…

Power and Efficiency Choices

Ford gives you options when it comes to what’s under the hood. You’ve got the tried-and-true 2.3L EcoBoost engine, or if you’re craving more power, go for the 3.0L V6 in the ST trim. And if you’re looking to be more eco-friendly without sacrificing performance, the Explorer Hybrid is your answer. It’s got the power you need with the fuel efficiency you want for longer road trips.

More Room and Comfort Inside

Inside, the Explorer’s cabin has gotten a noticeable upgrade. The third row has more legroom, and Ford’s added premium materials throughout. If you spring for the Platinum trim, you’ll even get massage seats—making this thing an absolute road trip beast.

Adventure-Ready Towing and Cargo Space

If you’re into outdoor adventures, you’ll love that the Explorer can now tow up to 5,600 lbs. And with power-folding second and third rows, reconfiguring your cargo space has never been easier. Whether you’re hauling camping gear or kids’ sports equipment, you’re covered.

Off-Roading Gets Real with Timberline

Looking to take your Explorer off-road? The Timberline Edition is back for 2025 with everything you need to hit the trails—extra ground clearance, skid plates for underbody protection, and all-terrain tires to handle whatever the wilderness throws at you.
